Summer has landed, and we’re off and running!
Thanks to you, Timothy DuWhite’s one-man Neptune was a sold-out, standing-ovation success. Not only did Neptune herald the inauguration of our Playhouse in the Parking Lot (and our first live production in 16 months), but Timothy’s powerful autobiographical performance delivered a meaningful contribution to our community’s collective celebration of the country’s brand-new federal holiday, Juneteenth.
And before we reach the Fourth of July, we’ll open our next production in the outdoor theater, Bekah Brunstetter’s heart-warming comedy The Cake. With performances running Mondays – Thursdays through July 22, The Cake opens this Monday, June 28 at 7pm. Starring Jen Cabral as a North Carolina baker named Della – who suffers a crisis of faith when the daughter of her recently-deceased best friend asks Della to bake the cake for her wedding to another woman – this topical new play from the creator of This Is Us co-stars Jackie Marino-Thomas, Vanessa Rose and, as Jen Cabral’s onstage husband, her real life husband, Ian Leahy.

A few tips to patrons attending The Cake in the Playhouse in the Parking Lot…
- Performance run-time for The Cake is 90-minutes with no intermission. As summer evenings can get cool on the cape, consider bringing a sweater, jacket or blanket.
- Season Subscribers should redeem for their selected performance date in advance at the ticket link below. By logging into the account associated with your email the option to “redeem” should appear. You can also direct ticket redemption requests to operations@
- Parking is limited, but it’s guaranteed for those with a premium ticket. General ticket holders and subscribers do not receive guaranteed parking – other modes of transportation (e.g. walking, bike, taxi) are encouraged.
And finally, as the Provincetown licensing board approved our request to expand capacity from 44 to 70 seats in our Playhouse in the Parking Lot, now you can bring all your friends to come see The Cake!
