Continuing the Journey: Provincetown Theater Presents Perestroika, the Epic Sequel to Angels in America

Last season, Provincetown Theater had the privilege of producing Tony Kushner’s Angels in America: Millennium Approaches. The production made a strong impression in our community, with such high demand for tickets that we extended its run and continued sparking conversations all over town. In a place with such a rich theatrical history, it felt like we were adding something meaningful to Provincetown’s legacy of playwrights and theater artists.

We were honored when Tony visited the theater to meet the cast and share his appreciation for their work. He mentioned how often people would stop him during his walks around town to express how much the production resonated with them. His visit was a special moment that left a lasting impression with all involved in the production.

Now, as we get ready to stage Perestroika, part two of Kushner’s epic, we’re both excited and aware of the responsibility that comes with producing this important work of the American theater. Millennium Approaches set the stage for this continuation, and Perestroika promises to be even more dramatically engaging, expansive and emotionally compelling.
